The Naga (17 Days/16 Nights)
Yangon-Homalin-Leshi-Mandalay-Pindaya-Inle-Bagan-Mt.Popa-Yangon

Although most people have heard about Naga tribes there are some who have seen them and only a few who have been to their area. Our expedition will be going right through the centre of Naga region where we will be meeting some out of the total 68 tribes. The authentic Naga New Year Festival will offer the particular experience.

17 days/16 nights
Sightseeing by coach with a/c (except in Naga Land)
The pick up or the truck will be used for the transportation in Naga Land.
Domestic flights on Myanmar Airways (Fokker) for Yangon-Homalin-Mandalay Thursday & Sunday.
Flight schedule is subject to change without prior notice.
Domestic flights on Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan (F-100 or ATR-72/42) for Heho-Bagan.
Traditional village cooked foods will be provided during the stay in Naga Land
The accommodation will be the temporarily built long huts. All the guests have to sleep together (men and ladies separately). We will provide blankets, pillows, mosquito nets, etc. Warm cloths are highly recommended as the average temperature is about 0ºC.
The authentic Minkyansit boats (the property of Adventure Myanmar), made of teak wood are traditionally built and decorated, available on request for Mingun-Ava river excursion. Can be done as per date of every year to match Naga New Year (2004/2005/2006, etc).

11/1 Arrival Yangon
Welcome at the airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Orientation tour Yangon if time permits. Visit the colonial area, the Sule Pagoda-the landmark of Yangon City Centre, which has been enshrined the hair relic of Buddha, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image-72 meters long huge colossal image. Finally, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda-one of the wonders of the world where we can observe the ways of life of Buddhists such as offering the water, candles, flowers, etc. Overnight in Yangon.

12/1 Flight to Homalin. Proceed to Htamanthi village
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to airport for the flight to Homalin on Myanmar Airways. Upon arrival, drive to Pinmar village (88 km, 4 hours), cross Chindwin River by ferry. Arrival Htamanthi village and overnight.

 

13/1 Drive to Leshi (66 km, 5 hours)
Morning, after breakfast drive to Leshi. Arrival and leisure. Overnight in Leshi.

 

14/1 Naga Festival
After breakfast, watching Naga Pole Erection Ceremony and opening of Naga Traditional Field. Enjoy the music of Naga Youth Association in the evening. Overnight in Leshi.

 

15/1 Naga Festival
Morning, after breakfast observe the opening ceremony of Naga New year Festival. Presentation of Naga History. Performing Naga Traditional Dance. Enjoy the Naga Pan (Traditional Drum) and Naga Game competition such as putting the shot, discuss throwing game in the afternoon. Enjoy Naga traditional dance and bonfire in the evening. Overnight in Leshi.

 

16/1 Drive back to Homalin
Morning, after breakfast, drive back to Htamanthi. Cross the Chindwin River by ferry to Pinmar village. Proceed to Homalin and overnight.

17/1 Flight to Mandalay.
Morning, breakfast and transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, transfer and check in at the hotel. Overnight in Mandalay.
18/1 Excursion Amarapura, Sagaing & sightseeing Mandalay
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit Mahamuni Buddha Image-one of the most sacred Buddha Images in Myanmar with 01 ton of gold-gilded and many pieces of precious stones, such as diamonds, rubies, pearls, sapphires, emeralds, etc. Excursion to Amarapura, an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries. Drive to Mandalay and visit traditional handicraft workshops such as, marble carving, gold leaves beating, Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses 729 marble
slabs sculptured the teaching of Buddha, Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery, which is the masterpiece of wood carving, etc. Finally enjoy the sunset on top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. Come back to hotel and leisure. Overnight in Mandalay.
19/1 River cruise Mingun-Ava (Inwa)
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion to Mingun (01 hour) along mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda, which was dedicated to be the highest one but remained as the biggest pile of bricks & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual Myatheindan pagoda, which represents Mt. Meru and the abode of celestial beings. Proceed to Ava (Inwa) by boat for about 02 hours. On the way, we may observe the beauty of serene Sagaing Hill & bridge from the boat. Arrive to Ava and visit by horse carts to Maenu Okkyaung Monastery built

by the chief queen in 1818 for the venerable chief monk is the unique brick type building of 19th century, Nan Myint Tower-27 meter masonry high is declined due to the earthquake in 1811, Bargayar Monastery-well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars. Come back to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein Bridge. Overnight in Mandalay.

 

20/1 Drive to Pindaya (335 km-8:30/09:30 hours).
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Pindaya. On the way, enjoy the natural scenery. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight in Pindaya.

 

21/1 Visit Pindaya. Proceed to Inle (97 km, 02:30 hours)
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Pindaya Caveshouses 8094 Buddha Images cast in lacquer, wood, stone, alabaster, etc, umbrella workshop, which is made of pulp. Proceed to Inle and on the way, visit Shweyanpye Monastery- typical Shan Monastery, made of wood which is about 500 years old and its pagoda-there are over 700 small Buddha Images in niches fully painted traditionally by Shan people. Check in at the hotel and overnight.

 

22/1 Excursion Inle
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion on the lake. Visit floating gardens, floating villages, Lotus-petal robe weaving looms, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda-the most venerable pagoda on the lake, which houses 05 images of Buddha completely gilded, In Paw Khon village to observe the silk weaving, jumping cats monastery, etc. Overnight.

 

23/1 Excursion Sagar village
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion to Sagar Pagodas in ruins of about 700 years old, which are recently discovered. It was formerly located on the hills but when the water dam was built, the village was moved to the present area but abandoned the temples. The landscapes on the way are superb. Continue to Inpaw Khon village to obs.

24/1 Excursion In Thein village.
Flight to Bagan.

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion to In Thein pagodas in ruins covered by trees and bushes-which are supposed to be old about 500 years. Transfer to Heho Airport for the flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, transfer and check in at the hotel. Overnight in Bagan.

 

25/1 Sightseeing Bagan
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit local market, where we can understand the daily life of local people, the Shwezigon Pagoda-the glory of Bagan, which was built over 900 years ago, the Htilominlo Temple-the best pilaster carving, the Nathtaukkyaung Monastery-monastery made of teak wood at the bank of the river, the Ananda Temple-the masterpiece of Bagan, the Gubyaukgyi Temple-the best mural paintings of 11th century, the Manuha Temple-huge Buddha Images in standing and reclining positions, the Dhamayangyi Temple-the biggest and the finest brickworks temple in Bagan, the Sulamani Temple-the 12th century temple, which is proud for its colourful wall paintings, the lacquerware workshop-the unique of Bagan, etc. Finally, enjoy the sunset on top of a pagoda or temple. Overnight in Bagan.



26/1 Excursion Mt.Popa (50 km-2 hours).
Flight to Yangon

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt.Popa-an extinct volcano which is known as “Home of the Spirits” and observe the life of rural area on the way such as producing the palm sweets. We may stop several places for making the photos and knowing the countryside. Climb up 777 steps to reach of top of Mt.Popa cliff temple and enjoy the landscapes. Come down and back to Bagan. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. Arrival to Yangon and transfer
to hotel. Overnight in Yangon.

 

27/1 Departure
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for the departure flight.

Extensions to the beaches
Ngapali Beach
The Ngapali area is a good place to relax and take a break from the stress. The water is transparent and the sea is tranquil. It is the best place to take a sunbath, run away from the stressful life and concentrate the essence of the peacefulness. We can make an extension trip to Ngapali Beach from Yangon, Bagan & Inle. We can stay there as long as we can as there are also activities such as mini-golf playing, cycling, fishing, volley playing, wind surfing and hobie-cat, catamaran sailing are available.

Ngwesaung Beach
This Hideaway is the most romantic, unspoiled beach resort in Myanmar. The water is clear and the sand is lovely white and we can find corals.
