Yangon-Mandalay-Kyaukmyaung-Tagaung-Monywa-Bagan-Mt. Popa-Yangon

 

The river cruise on mighty Ayeyarwaddy River is one of the spectacular trips. As one travels downstream spectacular gorges give way to expansive vistas of shimmering water, jungle-clad banks to endless paddy. The river eventually filters into the ocean through a thousand square mile delta. Passing through its most picturesque defiles is the essence of the expedition.

Domestic flights on Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan (F-100, ATR-72/42)
The cruise is totally furnished with Myanmar unique teak woods. There are 14 cabins & 01 honeymooners’ cabin with 04 common bathrooms and 05 common toilets on double-deck. Travellers’ restaurant serves delicious cuisines with fascinating landscapes and traditional landscapes can be observed at the dinner times.
Travellers’ bar is a cozy place to chit chat and open air relax area is ready to contemplate the harmonizing the rhythm of the river.

Day 01 Arrival Yangon
Welcome at the airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Visit the National Museum-05 storey building which displays all about Myanmar, mainly the Lion Throne of the last king of Myanmar, who exiled to India in 1886, the Botahtaung Pagoda- the combination of stupa & temple, the colonial area, the Sule Pagoda-the landmark of Yangon City Centre, which has been enshrined the hair relic of Buddha, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image-72 meters long huge colossal image. Finally, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda-one of the wonders of the world where we can observe the ways of life of Buddhists such as offering the water, candles, flowers, etc. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02 Flight to Mandalay.
RV Min Kyan Sit Cruise

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, transfer to the jetty and embark on board. Cruise to Mingun and visit Mingun pagoda, which was dedicated to be the highest one but remained as the biggest pile of bricks & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual Myatheindan pagoda, which represents Mt. Meru and the abode of celestial beings. Lunch on board. Proceed to Singu enjoy the beautiful scenery. Dinner and overnight on board.

 

Day 03 RV Min Kyan Sit Cruise
Morning, breakfast on board. Cruise to Kyaukmyaung, Pe Saung and Ma Le. Visit the authentic villages. Lunch on board and leisure during the cruise. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 04 RV Min Kyan Sit Cruise
Morning, breakfast on board. Cruise to Tagaung and enjoy the life of the river. Lunch on board and leisure during the cruise. Dinner and overnight on board.

 

Day 05 Drive back to Mandalay (190 km, 7/8 hours)
Morning, breakfast on board. Visit Tagaung ancient city and Payagyi Pagoda, U Tint Te (Guardian Spirit of Home), market and drive back to Mandalay on the rough and bumpy road. Arrival Mandalay and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 06 Excursion Ava & sightseeing Mandalay
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Ava (Inwa) and visit by horse carts to Maenu Okkyaung Monasterybuilt by the chief queen in 1818 for the venerable chief monk is the unique brick type building of 19th century, Nan Myint Tower-27 meter masonry high is declined due to the earthquake in 1811, Bargayar Monastery-well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars. Come back to Mandalay and visit traditional handicraft workshops such as, gold leaves beating, Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses 729 marble slabs, sculptured the teaching of Buddha, Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery, which is the masterpiece of wood carving, etc. Finally enjoy the sunset on top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. Come back to hotel and leisure. Overnight in Mandalay.


Day 07 Excursion Amarapura, Sagaing & drive to Monywa

(112km,03:30/04:00 hours).
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit Mahamuni Buddha Image- one of the most sacred Buddha Images in Myanmar with 01 ton of gold-gilded and many pieces of precious stones, such as diamonds, rubies, pearls, sapphires, emeralds, etc. Excursion to Amarapura, an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries, Drive to Monywa and visit Thanbode Temple-over 500,000 Buddha Images built in 1930, The Bodhitahtaung Temple-over 1000 sitting BuddhaImages under 1000 Bodhi trees (Ficus Religioso), the Shwetharlyaung Reclining Buddha Image-one of the biggest reclining Buddha Images in Myanmar with 100 meters long, etc. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight in Monywa. etc.

Day 08 Excursion Powintaung Caves.
Drive to Bagan. (290 km, 6/7 hours)

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Powintaung Caves-situated in a cliff which houses over 400,000 Buddha Images. It consists of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and considered by archaeologists to be the richest collection of mural painting and Buddha’s statues and unique precious frescoes. Proceed to Pakkoku (4 hours) and take the ferry to a village (01 hour) then drive to Bagan (1 hour).
Arrival and check in the hotel. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 09 Sightseeing Bagan
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit local market, where we can understand the daily life of local people, the Shwezigon Pagoda-the glory of Bagan, which was built over 900 years ago, the Htilominlo Temple-the best pilaster carving, the Nathtaukkyaung Monastery-monastery made of teak wood at the bank of the river, the Ananda Temple-the masterpiece of Bagan, the Gubyaukgyi Temple-the best mural paintings of 11th century, the Manuha Temple-huge Buddha Images in standing and reclining positions, the Dhamayangyi Temple-the biggest and the finest brickworks temple in Bagan, the Sulamani Temple-the 12th century temple, which is proud for its colourful wall paintings, the lacquerware workshop-the unique of Bagan, etc. Finally, enjoy the sunset on top of a pagoda or temple. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 10 Excursion Mt.Popa (50 km, 2 hours).
Flight to Yangon

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt.Popa-an extinct volcano which is known as “Home of the Spirits” and observe the life of rural area on the way such as producing the palm sweets. We may stop several places for making the photos and knowing the countryside. Climb up 777 steps to reach of top of Mt.Popa cliff temple and enjoy the landscapes. Come down and back to Bagan. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer and check in at the hotel. Overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 11 Departure
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for the departure flight.
