Mahogany Myanmar (15 Days/14 Nights)
Yangon-Mandalay-Monywa-Myinmu-Bagan-Mt.Popa-Kalaw-Pindaya- Inle-Heho-Kyaing Tong-Thachileik
This tour program is specially designed for the combination between Myanmar & Thailand, two countries-one destination. We enter Myanmar through Yangon gateway, explore the main highlights of Myanmar then conclude in Golden Triangle to observe the unique hill tribe and afterwards, cross the border towards Thailand.
15 days/14 nights
The trekking in Kyaing Tong is not hard and it can be done at every age.
We can arrange 4x4 on request to reach some of the villages. The maximum walking time is about two hours. The road condition is a little bit bad in the rainy season (July to September).
Trekking boots or sport shoes are recommended.
Rain coats in the rainy season (from July to September)
Sightseeing and transportation by coach with air-condition (except in Kyaing Tong)
Myinmu-Bagan public boat operates daily only from October to March. The rest of the months depends on the numbers of passengers. It leaves at 07:00 a.m and the arrival time to Bagan depends on the season and water level. In the dried season from October to May, it can take about 08/10 hours and in the rainy season from June to September, it can take about 5/6 hours only.
The authentic Minkyansit boats (the property of Adventure Myanmar), made of teak wood are traditionally built and decorated, available on request for Mingun river excursion & Myinmu-Bagan one day boat trip.
Our catering team is ready to serve delicious cuisine if we make one day cruise.
Domestic flights on Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan (F-100, ATR 72/42)
The best accommodation available in Keng Tong is 3* but neat and clean, acceptable standard for foreign visitors.
The foods quality is not bad but due to little choice of the restaurants, we may have to repeat to eat at the best restaurant in Keng Tong available.
Easy access to Myanmar-Thai border check point, it is just to cross the bridge for about 05 minutes walk.
Upon arrival at the border pass points, we will wait and assist the border pass formalities.
Recommend to make all the year round.
Day 01 Arrival Yangon
Welcome at the airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel.
Visit the colonial area, the Sule Pagoda-the landmark of Yangon City Centre, which has been enshrined the hair relic of Buddha, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image-72 meters long huge colossal image. Finally, visit the Shwedagon Pagodaone of the wonders of the world where we can observe the ways of life of Buddhists such as offering the water, candles, flowers, etc. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 02 Flight to Mandalay. Excursion Mingun & sightseeing Mandalay.
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Arrival and direct boat excursion to Mingun (01 hour) along the Ayeyarwaddy River. During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda, which was dedicated to be the highest one but remained as the biggest pile of bricks & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual Myatheindan pagoda, which represents Mt. Meru and the abode of celestial beings.

Back to Mandalay and visit traditional handicraft workshops such as, gold leaves beating, Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses 729 marble slabs sculptured the teaching of Buddha, Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery, which is the masterpiece of wood carving, etc. Finally enjoy the sunset on top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City, Shan Plateau, etc. Come back to hotel and leisure. Overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 03 Excursion Amarapura, Sagaing & Ava (Inwa)
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit Mahamuni Buddha Image- one of the most sacred Buddha Images in Myanmar with 01 ton of gold-gilded and many pieces of precious stones, such as diamonds, rubies, pearls, sapphires, emeralds, etc. Excursion to Amarapura, an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries, Kaungmudaw Pagodathe magnificent dome remarkably seen from far away, silverware factory, etc. Continue to Ava (Inwa) and visit by horse carts to Maenu Okkyaung Monastery-built by the chief queen in 1818 for the venerable chief monk is the unique brick type building of 19th century, Nan Myint Tower-27 meter masonry high is declined due to the earthquake in 1811, Bargayar Monastery-well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars. Come back to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein Bridge. Overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 04 Drive to Monywa(112 km, 03:30/04:00 hours).
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Monywa and on the way enjoy the life of rural area. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Visit Thanbode Temple-over 500,000 Buddha Images built in 1930, the Bodhitahtaung Temple-over 1000 sitting Buddha Images under 1000 Bodhi trees, the Shwetharlyaung Reclining Buddha Image-one of the biggest reclining Buddha Images in Myanmar with 100 meters long, etc. In the evening, wandering around the town. Overnight

Day 05 Excursion Powitaung Caves& Kyaukka village
Morning breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Powintaung Caves-situated in a cliff which houses over 400,000 Buddha Images. It consists of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and considered by archaeologists to be the richest collection of mural painting and Buddha’s statues and unique precious frescoes .Visit around the caves and proceed to Kyaukka village, famous for its lacquerware products. Back to Monywa and visit Kyaukka village, famous for its lacquerware. Overnight.

Day 06 Drive to Myinmu.
River cruise to Bagan

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Myinmu and the river cruise to Bagan. Leisure and enjoy the marvelous landscapes during the cruise. The boat may stop is some villages to get the local passengers up and down. Arrive to Bagan and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 07 Sightseeing Bagan
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit local market, where we can understand the daily life of local people, the Shwezigon Pagoda-the glory of Bagan, which was built over 900 years ago, the Htilominlo Temple-the best pilaster carving, the Nathtaukkyaung Monastery-monastery made of teak wood at the bank of the river, the Ananda Temple-the masterpiece of Bagan, the Gubyaukgyi Temple-the best mural paintings of 11th century, the Manuha Temple-huge Buddha Images in standing and reclining positions, the Dhamayangyi Temple-the biggest and the finest brickworks temple in Bagan, the Sulamani Temple-the 12th century temple, which is proud for its colourful wall paintings, the lacquerware workshop-the unique of Bagan, etc. Finally, enjoy the sunset on top of a pagoda or temple. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 08 Sightseeing Bagan
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Visit Lawkananda pagoda, which has the fascinating river view, enshrined the tooth replica of Buddha, Payathonezu temples with mural paintings, Nagayon Temple of 11th century, Apyeyadanar Temple with mural paintings, etc. In the late afternoon, visit the Minanathu village to observe the life of people. Finally, take the boat ride on mighty Ayeyarwaddy River during the sunset time. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 09 Excursion Mt.Popa (50 km, 02:00 hrs).
Drive to Kalaw (240 km, 8/9 hours)

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt.Popa-an extinct volcano which is known as “Home of the Spirits” and observe the life of rural area on the way such as producing the

palm sweets. We may stop several places for making the photos and knowing the countryside. Climb up 777 steps to reach of top of Mt.Popa cliff temple and enjoy the landscapes. Come down and proceed to Kalaw. Check in at the hotel and leisure. Overnight in Kalaw.

 

Day 10 Drive to Pindaya (45 km, 01:30 hours).
Proceed to Inle (97 km, 02:30 hours)

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Pindaya and enjoy the marvelous landscapes of hilly region with vegetables plantation, terrace-landing cultivation, etc. Visit the Pindaya Caves-houses 8094 Buddha Images cast in lacquer, wood, stone, alabaster, etc, umbrella workshop, which is made of pulp. Proceed to Inle and on the way, visit Shweyanpye Monastery-typical Shan Monastery, made of wood which is about 500 years old and its pagoda-there are over 700 small Buddha Images in niches fully painted traditionally by Shan people. Check in at the hotel and overnight.

 

Day 11 Excursion Inle
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion on the lake. Visit In Thein pagodas in ruins covered by trees and busheswhich are supposed to be old about 500 years, floating gardens, floating villages, Lotus-petal robe weaving looms, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda-the most venerable pagoda on the lake, which houses 05 images of Buddha completely gilded, In Paw Khon village to observe the silk weaving, jumping cats monastery, etc. Overnight.

 

Day 12 Flight to Kyaing Tong
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Heho Airport for the flight to Kyaing Tong. Upon arrival, transfer and check in at the hotel. Drive to trekking start-point (01:30 hrs). Trekking to Akha village (approximately 30 minutes), ladies with the black dress and the silver headdress. Proceed to Enn village (approximately 20 minutes), the men wear the long black trousers and the black jackets whereas women wear the black longyis and black blouses, similar to Red Indians. Trek back to the starting- point (30 minutes). Drive back to Kyaing Tong. Leisure and overnight.

Day 13 Kyaing Tong
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive about 01:30 hrs to start trekking. Visit Akha four villages with different religions and different ways of living. Back to the coach. Continue to Palaung Village, women wear their traditional costumes. Back to Kyaing Tong and wandering in the town, such as nearby Naung Tong Lake, etc. Overnight .

 

Day 14 Kyaing Tong
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mong Kwan area to visit Hill top Hwe Kwai village & Sham Gim Tai Loi people beyond the road. Continue to colorful dressed Li Shaw people and their mud houses at Wan Kwan village. Then observe Namp-Wok 3 Mega-watts hydroelectricity power station. Back to Kyaing Tong and leisure. Overnight.

 

Day 15 Drive to Thachileik (03/04 hours). Myanmar-Thai border cross
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Thachielik, border check point and assist the border pass formalities. Depart to Mae Sai.
